Melissa Carlucci DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, FAANP, FCCP
Melissa Carlucci, DNP, APRN, ACNP-BC, FAANP is an innovative leader in NP education and practice. She has been a faculty member at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing since 2011. She was the Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Specialty Director from 2014-2022 and is currently a Clinical Associate Professor and Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program. She has an active clinical practice in the Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep and Allergy Medicine at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System. The focus of her practice is the management of sleep disordered breathing including noninvasive ventilation for chronic hypercapnic respiratory failure. She has developed new practice models to integrate the NP role into sleep medicine and expand access to care for underserved patients across practice settings. She has served as the NP voice on several impactful interprofessional initiatives and has a special interest in effectively integrating NPs into interprofessional healthcare teams. Her practice excellence was recognized with a Distinguished Award for Scholarly Practice at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing and her leadership excellence was recognized with the Pinnacle Nurse Leader Award in Illinois.
