Danielle Khaleen McCamey DNP, ACNP-BC, FCCP, FAAN, FAANP
Dr. Danielle McCamey is a board-certified Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of nursing experience and more than a decade of clinical practice specializing in perianesthesia, palliative, and critical care. She currently serves as an Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing and practices as an acute care nurse practitioner in surgical critical care in Washington, DC. A proud alumna of the University of Virginia (Wahoowa!) and Georgetown University (Hoya Saxa!), Danielle brings a wealth of clinical expertise and academic leadership to her roles.
Nationally recognized for her contributions to nursing, she serves on the National Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Steering Committee for the American College of Chest Physicians (CHEST), where she helps shape the future of critical care practice. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN), a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians (FCCP), and a Fellow of the Academy of Diversity Leaders in Nursing (FADLN) and soon to be inducted into the 2025 class of Fellows in the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (FAANP)
Danielle is the creator of the Doctoral Nurses Collaborative, a platform for building community and advancing leadership among DNP-prepared nurses at a hospital health system where she currently works. In addition, she is the founder of DNPs of Color (DOCs), a pioneering nonprofit organization, she has cultivated a global network of DNP-prepared nurses of color, fostering community, mentorship, and professional advancement while championing diversity in nursing leadership.
A passionate advocate and thought leader, Danielle’s scholarly work and public speaking are dedicated to advancing health equity and diversifying the nursing workforce. She continues to build communities that create opportunities and drive meaningful change in nursing and healthcare.
