Kate G Sheppard PhD, RN, FNP, PMHNP-BC, FAAN, FAANP
Dr. Sheppard is a family nurse practitioner, psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, and educator. She has developed programs to provide rural emergency care and programs for NPs and other health care providers with symptoms of compassion fatigue. She has developed clinics specifically for Deaf patients. As specifically requested by Deaf individuals, she serves as a voice to remind providers that Deaf patients have unique needs. Dr. Sheppard has presented her work locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. She is DNP faculty at University of Arizona, and her research interests are mental health of vulnerable populations and compassion fatigue among health care providers.
