Laurel Hallock Koppelman, DNP, FNP-C, APRN is a Family Nurse Practitioner at a clinic in metro Portland, Oregon. After establishing an interest in primary care as it intersects with addiction treatment, she sees first-hand the value of integrated and holistic care and was one of the first FNPs in Oregon to obtain the certification and training to prescribe buprenorphine. She inserts herself in the narrative of solving the opioid crisis with increased access to NPs by educating the future workforce and encouraging present day prescribers to be comfortable treating and providing harm reduction to their patients. She is consistently recognized as one of the Top NPs in Portland as well as at her University where she received the Advanced Practice Nurse of the year award for 2022.
