Leah Burt PhD, APRN, ANP-BC, CHSE, FAANP
Dr. Burt is an NP at the University of Illinois Hospital and Health Sciences System in the department of emergency medicine; a clinical assistant professor and director of the adult-gerontology primary care NP program at University of Illinois Chicago College of Nursing; and a clinical assistant professor and director of educational quality assurance at University of Illinois College of Medicine Simulation and Integrative Learning Institute. Dr. Burt is an educator and scholar who leads national innovation in NP education. She is an expert researcher, educational visionary and interprofessional leader who is passionate about discovering evidence-based ways to enhance NP student diagnostic accuracy through simulation and competency-based education. Her leadership and research impact have been honored with the Society to Improve Diagnosis in Medicines Emerging Leader Rising Star Award, the Barbara Berger Excellence in Teaching Faculty Award and the DAISY Faculty Award for extraordinary nursing contributions.
