Dr. Cindy Weston is Founding Dean for the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth. She is a champion for innovative NP-led care delivery models to increase care access. She is a trailblazer in educating NPs to serve in rural areas and an expert in integrating simulation into NP curriculum to build competency. Her programs have led to 60% of NP graduates employment in rural, medically underserved, or healthcare provider shortage areas of Texas. She sought and received over $20 million in extramural funding to launch comprehensive cancer screening, integrated behavioral healthcare, and mobile rural school-based clinics. Her work resulted in the prestigious Daisy Team award and a Patent and Innovation Award for virtual reality simulation.
