Lorraine Byrnes PhD, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, CNM (ret.), FAANP
Dr. Lorraine Byrnes is recently retired after serving as Associate Dean of Operations and Associate Professor in Nursing at Nova Southeastern University, Graduate Chair at the University of Hawaii Manoa and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs and Associate Professor at Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing and the Graduate Center, City University of New York. She was instrumental in the development of the DNP program at Hunter College. Dr. Byrnes has been a nurse practitioner for over 30 years working with vulnerable women during the perinatal period. She served on the APA Expert Panel studying mental health disorders during the perinatal period, CDC Expert Panel on Preconception Care for Persons with HIV and the board of the Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health. She has published and presented her research nationally and internationally. She currently volunteers as a PMHNP at the Clearwater Free Clinic in Clearwater Florida.
