Erin K Athey DNP, FNP-BC, RN, FAANP

    Dr. Erin Athey is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who has spent nearly two decades working on the east side of Washington, D.C., as a clinician, educator, and community-engaged scholar to improve health outcomes for those who are under-resourced and disenfranchised.

Dr. Athey’s experiences as a clinician have led her to develop several innovative, community-based initiatives that focus on improving health literacy and bringing healthcare into these communities. The programs she developed include award-winning mental health literacy programs for adults and youth. In addition, during the COVID-19 pandemic, she pioneered a mobile health program that provided COVID-19 testing and vaccinations as well other clinical services, and health education throughout Wards 5, 6, 7 and 8 of Washington, DC.

These experiences, combined with her desire to improve access to care in the communities for whom she has dedicated her career, inspired her to create C3 Cares, a company placing mobile and place-based clinical services directly in DC public housing communities.
