Barbara Jean St. Marie PhD, AGPCNP, FAANP, FAAN
Dr. Barbara St. Marie is an Associate Professor at the University of Iowa, College of Nursing. Dr. St. Marie has extensive experience in pain management and is well published and well-funded as PI on studies of pain and substance use disorder. Her findings describe complexities of experiences of people with pain when prescribed opioids and unknown risk for misuse. She completed a study as PI of an NIH-National Institute on Drug Abuse funded study of Decision Support Tool for Responsible Pain Management. And completed a study as PI for the use of TENS in People Receiving Buprenorphine for Opioid Use Disorder. She received the March of Dimes Advance Practice Nurse of the Year.
