Benjamin Smallheer PhD, RN, ACNP-BC, FNP-BC, CCRN, CNE is the Director of the AG-ACNP program at the Duke University School of Nursing. He is a clinical scholar recognized for significant contributions to nurse practitioner education. His expertise in innovative educational approaches is sought by universities and health systems globally. Dr. Smallheer’s clinical expertise focuses on accelerating the translation of best practices for the care of critically ill patients. He is frequently invited to speaks on a variety of clinical topics. He leads international quality improvement initiatives resulting in sustainable and improved models of care for patients in low resourced areas. He is the recipient of numerous teaching awards and is recognized for excellence in simulation leadership.
