Gwendolyn A Foster CNM, MSN, FACNM, FAANP
Colonel Gwendolyn A. Foster is the Commander/CEO of David Grant Medical Center at Travis Air Force Base, California. As commander, she leads 2.5K staff and is responsible for maintaining the standards of practice to govern all care provided for 276K DoD/VA eligible beneficiaries. Gwendolyn is also an advanced practice registered nurse certified in Nurse-midwifery. As a practitioner, she has managed over 1000 deliveries, seen over 10K patients and educated over one thousand medical students, residents, nurses, and APRNs. As a researcher, she is published in three national peer reviewed journals and presented at five national conventions. All these efforts have culminated in national awards such as Air Force Materiel Command Wilma Vaught Award and AWHONN Advocate of the Year.
