Kerry Ann Peterson PhD, DNP, PMHNP-BC, CNE, FAANP
Kerry Peterson, PhD, DNP, PMHNP is a Professor and Director of Behavioral Health Practice Initiatives & Education at the Medical University of South Carolina College of Nursing. Dr. Peterson developed a new PMHNP program, expanded PMHNP simulation, and created novel trainings for nursing students to address burnout and workplace violence. She has extensive practice and research expertise working with survivors of abuse as well as evidence-based violence prevention initiatives. Dr. Peterson delivers national level PMHNP leadership, research, and advocacy. She was awarded the Psychiatric Mental Health Endowed Professorship at the CU College of Nursing and is a CU Excellence in Leadership Fellow. Dr. Peterson received the Young Career Achievement Distinguished Alumni Award from Shenandoah University, the Sigma Theta Tau International Research Dissertation award, and the American Psychiatric Nurses Association Educator Award.
