Dr. Gilles has launched several effective models of care bringing under-resourced communities access to healthcare-education, while creating community-based immersive learning and interprofessional experiences for NP students. She spearheaded an opioid overdose prevention training program reaching thousands of individuals and established an NP-led COVID-19 vaccine clinic delivering vaccines to vulnerable populations. She received several community service awards, is a Fellow of the NY Academy of Medicine, the American Academy of Nursing, and the Academy of Nursing Education.
