Rose Mary Xavier PhD, MS, APRN, PMHNP-BC, FAAN, FAANP
Dr. Xavier is an assistant professor and the director of the biobehavioral laboratory at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Known as a research scientist and a seasoned psychiatric nurse practitioner, she investigates the biological mechanisms of neuropsychiatric symptoms for clinical translation. Clinically, she has a special interest in psychosis and the severely mentally ill population. Dr Xavier has extensive clinical experience working with the severely mentally ill and chemically dependent adult population in a variety of psychiatric care settings. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Nursing where she currently serves on the Psychiatric Mental Health Substance Use and Genomics Nursing expert panels.
