Felesia Renee Bowen PhD, DNP, APRN, PCPNP-BC, FADLN, FAAN, FAANP
Dr. Bowen is professor and associate dean for Access and Engagement at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing and president of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. She is a leader, educator, clinician and scientist who cares for vulnerable children, having developed an innovative care model to reduce access disparities for children with asthma. Dr. Bowen’s research in pediatric asthma has informed clinical practice guidelines that are used globally and her advocacy for health equity is evident in peer-reviewed publications, funded research, invited keynote presentations and media interviews like the Future of Nursing Podcast. Dr. Bowen was inducted as an inaugural Fellow of the Academy of Diversity Leaders in Nursing for this work.
